IELTS Listening Matching Features practice
Match speakers or items in a grid.
This page is for doing Matching Features questions: start the drill, then use the routine and the checks below to make each attempt count. For the strategy behind it, read the Matching Features guide.

A Listening section is one continuous recording, so the drill plays the whole recording — you only answer the Matching Features questions in it.

What Matching Features looks like on screen
Each item has the same small set of lettered options — which speaker made a point, say, or which place has a feature — and you choose one letter per item while the recording plays. The usual two minutes for checking come at the end of the test, not after the part.
Where you will meet it
This kind of matching suits Part 3 discussions, where two or more speakers give their views, and Part 2 talks that compare several places or services. The items are usually discussed in the order they are listed.
A routine for doing a set against the clock
Listening sets its own pace: the recording plays once, and there is time to read the questions before each part. The routine is about where your eyes and attention go:
- In the reading time, learn the option list well enough to recognise each option without looking.
- Fix each speaker's name and voice early in the part, so you can tell who is giving a view.
- Follow the items in order, and choose an option as each item is closed.
- Check whether the question wants one speaker's view, an agreed view or the final outcome.
