The problem: one tutor, every job
An independent tutor is the teacher, the examiner and the admin team at once. Listening and Reading have 40 questions each, so every full mock you set means 80 answers to check against a key before you even start on the essays.
Your students also do most of their practice without you. Without a timed, realistic paper to work on, that time drifts into unstructured exercises, and you only find out what went wrong in the next lesson.
And if they are booking the computer-delivered test, practising on PDFs and printouts leaves them unused to typing answers, reading a passage beside its questions and watching an on-screen clock.

Each student creates a free account, and during onboarding we attach it to your institute account, unlocking the full library on it.
You set the week's practice
Tell students which mock, practice day or Writing task to complete before the next lesson.
They practise; the platform marks
Listening and Reading are marked the moment they submit, and Writing gets its criterion-by-criterion estimate.
The lesson starts from the report
Students bring their score report and answer review, so the lesson begins with what actually went wrong.
What it does not do
- Your staff cannot upload their own tests or questions into the test library; they can share notes, links and files, and assign tests from the CD IELTS Prep library.
- There are no video lessons, scheduling or payments for your tutoring; the platform is for practice and marking.
- Teachers can adjust Writing and Speaking bands, but not Listening or Reading, which come from the answer key. Every band, teacher-set or not, is a practice estimate and not an official IELTS result.
- Speaking feedback for students is AI feedback on each recorded answer, shown as a band range rather than a final score. A teacher can set the Speaking band after reading the transcript; recordings are not stored. The real Speaking test is a live interview with an examiner.
- If you teach only a few students, the individual plans on our pricing page may be the cheaper route.

Is it worth it if I only teach a few students?
Institute seats are aimed at groups. If you teach only a handful of students, the individual plans on our pricing page may cost less. Ask us and we will tell you honestly which fits.
Can I try it before talking to you?
Yes. Anyone can create a free account and sit one full mock test in each exam type, Academic and General Training, so you can see exactly what your students would see.
Can I use my own materials on the platform?
Not currently. All practice material comes from the CD IELTS Prep library: full mocks, practice days, drills, the writing bank and Speaking sets.
Do my students need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in a modern browser on a laptop or desktop computer.
How much does it cost for a tutor?
Contact us for institute pricing. Each student seat costs the same as an individual Pro plan, with free bonus seats on larger groups, so we confirm the exact seats and length with you rather than publishing a price list. Individual student plans are listed on the pricing page.
Is CD IELTS Prep the official IELTS test?
No. CD IELTS Prep is an independent practice platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the British Council, IDP Education or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. Bands on the platform are practice estimates, not official IELTS results.
